Supatuff Heavy Duty Epoxy Coating (HD)
Heavy Duty, Epoxy Floor Coating Providing Excellent Chemical & Abrasion Resistance
DescriptionEpirez Supatuff Heavy Duty Epoxy Coating(HD) is a high solids, high build, epoxy-based coating which provides excellent chemical and abrasion resistance to steel, concrete, timber and other surfaces.
Supatuff HD can also be used to prepare easy-clean floor surfaces for a wide range of industrial and commercial applications.
Supatuff HD is potable water approved and can be applied at low temperatures (minimum 5ºC) and also over slightly damp concrete surfaces to produce a very hard wearing, colourful surface suitable for heavy foot traffic and rubber-tyred vehicles
Supatuff HD is available in a neutral base only and is mixed with Epirez Colourpacks to achieve a coloured finish. (Colours available – Dark Blue, Green, Light Grey, Dark Grey, White, Safety Yellow, Red, Black & Beige)
The exceptional resistance to a wide variety of chemical spillage and fumes makes Supatuff HD ideal for use in heavy industrial or marine environments.
Meets the requirements of AS/NZS 4020 – 2002 for use in contact with potable water.

Estimating Data
8 Ltr Supatuff Heavy Duty Epoxy Coating (HD) = 22.5 m 2 (2 x 150 um dft)
Application Directions
Surface Preparation
Concrete
Remove any old paint and all loose material. New concrete must be at least 28 days old. Remove any oil or grease contamination by washing with a suitable surface degreaser. Hose off with high pressure water. Captive blast clean to expose firmly held aggregate to industrially accepted standards. Allow to dry before application.
Alternatively, acid etch using Epirez® Concrete Etch & Cleaner. Neutralise surface by washing with fresh water and allow to dry.
Steel
Ensure that the surface is free from oil and grease. Abrasive blast clean in accordance with AS1627:4-2005 to a Class 2 ½ near white metal finish. Coating of the prepared steel should be completed within 4 hours.
Surface preparation guidelines cannot cover all site or field contingencies and it is always recommended that an onthe-spot adhesion test be performed as part of the Standard Quality Assurance audit for the project.
Mixing
Add complete contents of selected Epirez® Colourpack to Compound and mix thoroughly with a low speed (400 rpm) mixer before adding Hardener. Then add Hardener and mix again thoroughly.
Application
SupatuffTM Heavy Duty Epoxy Coating (HD) can be applied by brush, roller or airless spray in two coats (minimum) to achieve 300 micron DFT. Thin first coat (if necessary) with up to 20% v /v Epirez® Epoxy Thinner (No.3). Allow the coating to cure for 7 days prior to subjecting to chemical exposure.
For non-slip finishes, broadcast Epirez® Patching & Flooring Mortar Aggregate (QA2) between coats using "spread and sprinkle" method.
Maintenance
To maintain a good appearance and ensure a long serviceable life for Epirez Floors, it is important that good housekeeping procedures are always maintained.
Cleaning can be done with a mop, brush or auto scrubbing machine. Use a low residue detergent that is neutral in pH.
Note:
It is important that manufacturer’s instructions on dilutions of cleaning solutions are followed.
Limitations
SupatuffTM Heavy Duty Epoxy Coating (HD) should not be applied at temperatures below 5 0C.
SupatuffTM Heavy Duty Epoxy Coating (HD) should not be applied to surfaces known to suffer from rising damp. SupatuffTM Heavy Duty Epoxy Coating (HD) is not recommended for application over tiles and is not suitable for use where it is subjected to high concentrations of chicken fat. For more information contact the technical department.
Cleaning
Tools and equipment may be cleaned before hardening commences by washing with Epirez® Clean Up Solvent. Do not use for cleaning hands or mixing with product.
Storage and Shelf life
Store in dry conditions between 100C and 300C, away from sources of heat and naked flames. Protect from frost. When stored in original sealed containers the minimum shelf life is 2 years.
Packaging
SupatuffTM Heavy Duty Epoxy Coating (HD) is available in 8 litre packs containing Hardener and Compound in correct proportions for use. Selected Epirez® Colourpack must be added.
Note
The figures quoted for work time, cure time and coverage are not definitive. They are dependent on job site conditions and will vary accordingly. In all cases we endeavour to provide typical figures for use as a guide.
